ART OF FOOD: UTENSILS AND TOOLS
Food tools are a fun part of shooting food as art. From spatulas to knives to exotic items like cheese slicers, there are so many cool photos that can be made using them. Lighting is a key element, and when shooting something shiny it can be even more critical as you must control your highlights.
Here is a lighting scheme that can be used for many different subjects. From people to still life, dark field lighting is a powerful way to produce a dimensional image with punch.
Another workshop on Lighting for Dimension and Shape may be of help.
