SPLISH SPLASH – OUR LIQUID WORKSHOP STARTS APRIL 3

Well, we did still-life photography and food photography, and product photography, now we pivot to something fun, colorful, challenging, and frankly fairly messy,

This is an in-depth look into the world of shooting pour shots, liquid shots, and splash shots. From the famous beer pour with a perfect head to flying martinis, to submerged products, we will explore eight different commercial applications for shooting liquids.

This is the HOME PAGE for the 8 WEEK SPLASH PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP. And, as before, there is no charge, no signup, no credit card, no upsell other than a few mentions of Project 52. This class is open to anyone who wants to join.

We started with the original covid19 lockdown, as a way to break the boredom. Now we are still in various states of chaos, lockdown, restrictions, and more. I wanted to do something cool for the community, and now I do not see how I can stop doing it. I love it so much. So for 2021, I am planning at least three of these free workshops. If we get out of lockdown, there will be some portraiture involved as well. But for now, we are sticking to the tabletop.

You may join the Facebook group at any time. Do not wait for the class to start if you would like to meet the other folks who have taken the previous classes and get in on some of the behind the scenes fun.

THESE CLASSES ARE OPEN FOR EVERYONE!

We will even have the critiques and shows as well. Depending on how many join us we will have two critique times, recorded and put on each page so you can return to the critiques when it works for you.

So we begin an 8-Week Product Photography Workshop. You should spend one week on each assignment. Although you may be able to see them all on the home page, I suggest you do not go ahead. There is much to be learned at each critique, and that will help you at the next assignment.

You will need the following:

A tabletop. (Card table, 3×3, or 4×4 flat surface.
Light(s) At least two speed lights or strobes or continuous lights.
A good Boom for the overhead light.
A window for natural light.
Stands (one more than you currently own… forever… heh)
White cards / black cards – 2? square, and various smaller ones you will cut yourself.
A Scrim – sheer cloth stretched over a frame to place a light behind.
For the splash class, you will need access to a 10-gallon aquarium for two of the assignment.
