Create Professional Promotional Marketing Materials and Campaign

The class for creatives who need help starting creating their promotional materials and marketing plan.

We will help you understand typography, design, and production. Using Photoshop, and InDesign or Affinity Publisher, we will design promo pieces for your business.

The pieces include an email template, a promo magazine, a leave behind, and a special promo package that you will begin to implement with your marketing plan.

There will be many resources, and all live webinars will be recorded and stored on the site for your perusal whenever you wish. There is also a private Facebook group where you can share and learn from others in the class.

We aren’t going to make you a graphic designer in two months, but your understanding of the principles and production will be far richer.

Just knowing how typography can influence the design and be influenced by the design gives you a leg up on those who may think Comic Sans is a ‘fun little font’.

It’s not. Trust me.

It is also a good idea to understand how the printing process works so you can speak to it with your own printers, or even more importantly clients and designers. Speaking the lingo is a real credibility booster.

The 8 Week Workshop

This will be an intensive workshop and you will design the work and get it ready for production.

We will discover typography, design principles, print production, and how to show your work off to best results.

You will be able to come back to these files again and again and modify them, change them up a bit, and most importantly get the work in front of clients who are looking for what you provide.

We will also have a deep dive into the nuances of preparing images for print. You will love the level of information we are going to cover.

What You Will Need

The Tools

We will be using Photoshop to create graphics and other materials. You may also use Canva, an online resource for graphics. However, as a photographer, Photoshop is probably a staple of your apps.

You will also need a page layout program. I use InDesign, but we will also look at the far less expensive Infinity Publisher as a viable tool to design the promos.

There are a number of freeware page layout programs if you are willing to experiment. I will not be able to trouble shoot them, but they look capable.

Templates and 3rd Party Tools

We will be looking at how tools and templates from places like Creative Market and Graphic River can be of a great help when trying to build from scratch

I would highly suggest you become members (both are free) because of the free items they have weekly and monthly that can greatly enhance and speed up your design process.

Modern Design and Contemporary Style

We want your materials to be as modern as you want them to be. Creating a design faux-pas in this competitive market can be a steep challenge to remedy. Remember, we are visual artists. Our visuals must show a level of sophistication and design aesthetic that lets our clients know we are visually literate and engaged with contemporary design.

We will focus on clean design, good typography, and a fresh look to the design.

Create Your Own Style and Show Off Your Work

Class begins Tuesday, September 3, at 6:30 PM, Pacific. There will be 9 consecutive meetings at this time each Tuesday. All Live Webinars are recorded and you may access them at any time.

Students will have materials due each week, and there will be a live critique/discussion on the work we create.

You must have access to InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or a similar freeware page layout program. In addition, there is a private Facebook Group just for the members of this class.

Fee for this workshop is $95.

Additional Resources

Here are two resources I think will be of great value to you as you take this workshop.
Both are no charge, and have a terrific amount of information for you.
