I do find the blown out highlight on top of her head to be distracting and the same for the camra left sholder (but not as much as the other one). They could use some softing (wich is talked about) or even better for the photo, croped out. The croping you did on this photo was the best thing that anybody could have done (blown out highlights or not). Her eyes, by doing this you accentuated her eyes and made the photo!!!

Ooooohhhh blown out heads.... Oooooohhhhh - such bullshit is getting tiresome. Been doing it way tooooooo long for this shit.

Blown out highlights are a staple for many fashion and beauty work. Your inability to know what the hell is going on is YOUR liability... not anyone elses. Go back to making your flickr pics. This site is for people who understand the realities of style and work.

Your comment about not getting work beclowns you, dude... heh. You certainly are ignorant of contemporary fashion, beauty and editorial photography.

The beach lighting is just lazy photog lighting and for a professional shoot wont get you paid unless your clients just dont know any better.

If you like blown out tops of heads, keep on truckin'but good technique is to use a gobo between the sun and the models head.
