Thomas Broening Photography

Thomas Broening’s work is deceptive in its simplicity and exquisite in execution. The images don’t scream ‘process’ - they are overwhelming with rich color and textures. Concepts are provided in such a way as to be easily accepted and approachable.
His Blog is a wonderful glimpse into the way he works and how he traverses the many challenges of editorial and advertising photography. From dealing with AD’s to finding representation, Thomas let’s us come along for the journey. He has some insightul images and posts. Here are a few that I like:
Feature: Interview With Art Buyer Jen Small
Is There Room In Commercial Photography for Photography
I must say I am drawn to his work from the sense of lighting and texture and mood. It is work that stays with you. A more timeless approach to imagery and yet it is as modern and powerful as any art photography being created these days.
