Thanx for some very useful info once again. I must just add that I read through the earlier posts as well and that the video clip in your \\\\"Simple Setups For Dramatic Lighting\\\\" links to a site which has since messed up my internet settings and has been bombarding me with spam pop-up windows - very annoying! I trust that it was not intentional, given the high-class site you run. Apart from that, your site has been a constant source of information and inspiration on my photographic journey - thank you once again.

Thanks for another great article Don!

Hoping for a few words on your lenses and camera body...I notice you shoot with a Rebel XTi mostly (which is my camera too) and get great images from this simple tool. I am always impressed at this, especially since so many people think that a newer camera body=better images! I think for the most part a camera body is a box with a sensor in it...would love to hear your take!

Don,

Thanks for the credit and the link for the photos!

I\'d like to add:

If you order the Kacey beauty dish with the SINGLE speedlight configuration (round hole, single bracket) - then it is rapid-fire quick to change over from a speedlight to an Alien Bee – just take the speedlight off, and it quickly clamps onto the Alien Bee (the hole in the back of the Kacey is the right size for mounting on the Bee). You don’t even have to take the Pocket Wizard off the bracket – just unplug it from the speedlight, and plug in the AB trigger cord.

I LOVE being able to do this – if I’m outside, and find that the speedlight isn’t giving me enough power, I change over to my AB800 and a Vagabond II. In 3 minutes, I’m portable again, with 2-3 stops more power.

If you have the double speedlight mounting bracket on the back of the Kacey BD, then you cannot quickly change over to an Alien Bee; you would need to remove the bracket, and change to the single speedlight bracket first. This would take several minutes and a screwdriver.

I really like the Kacey Beauty Dish!

Looking forward to the next article!
